Mares

We are delighted to have Lo-lo in our our stud - her dam is the lovely Gue Maggie May so she goes back to our old mare Bella.   She is a bright bay in colour with a great temperament.  Lo-Lo has already been shown at both Youngstock shows in 2015 and 2016 and was in the ribbons both times in strong classes.  We showed her again at the Viking and Cunningsburgh Shows in 2017 when she was second both times to our Hermits Secret Dream.  Lo-lo had a lovely filly foal, Gue Wallis, in 2021 who is now with the Chesterwood Stud in Scotland.

Bella was the first filly foal I produced.  We really liked her so decided to keep and breed from her and as a result she is the matriarch of the stud. Bella has excellent movement. She was the third placed miniature mare at the SPSBS Breed Show in 2009. Bella was first placed Miniature Mare with Foal at Foot at the 2011 Viking Show in a strong class. She went through the 2013 Shetland Pony Evaluation Scheme and gained a silver award. Bella's sire, Mack of Knowe, was Shetland Centenary Show Miniature Champion.  Bella has produced some good foals for us and is now retired.

Gue Lily is the only filly that Gue Delight produced so is special to us.   Lily has very unusual colouring, in fact, when we asked visitors to the stud over the Breed show period in 2019 no one was sure what colour she was (we think she is chestnut with a lot of white hairs through her coat).  Lily had her first foal Gue Unst in 2019 - a lovely colt.  Unst has done well in his first show on the Mainland - he gained a second place for best miniature colt born in 2019/20 at the National Stallion show.  Lily's second foal is a lovely bay filly from Tot of Berry who is now in Orkney.  This year's foal - Gue Zoe, a beautiful chestnut filly - has been sold.

A lovely mare with a neat head and a lot of bone. Shown at the 2013 Youngstock show where she was second placed 1 year old filly in a mixed class of standards and miniatures (16 entered) and she went on to win the trophy for Best Miniature. Norah also did well in 2014 receiving a 1st, 2nd and 4th only times shown.  We have retained her first foal - Gue Rebecca.  Norah produced a smart colt in 2018 - Gue Travis - who did very well in the showring in 2018 and 2019 and has now passed as a stallion and is with the Brygarth Stud.  Norah has done it again - her 2022 foal Gue Xplorer is an extremely smart boy who is doing very well down on the Mainland for Jac McGuigan and her foal in 2024 (a full brother to Xplorer) also has great potential.  Tested and is SA clear.

A gorgeous mare with a neat head and lovely eye. Olivia was second placed filly foal at the 2013 Cunningsburgh Show in a large mixed class and was only beaten by Gue Opal. She managed to reverse this in the miniature ring of the 2013 Viking Show by knocking Opal off her perch into second place. Both judges said it was very difficult to chose between them. She rounded off a good year by being second placed filly foal in a mixed class at the 2013 Youngstock show. Olivia had another good year in the showring in 2014 - she attended 3 shows where she got a second place and two first places, a Reserve Junior champion, Junior champion and reserve ring champion. She also won two progeny classes with Gue Paolo.  At the 2017 Viking Show she was second placed mare with foal at foot with her lovely filly foal Gue Sophie May whom we have retained.  Olivia excelled herself in 2019 producing a striking mushroom colt, Gue Uproar, for us.  Uproar was first placed miniature colt at the 2019 Breed Show and has been retained by us as a stallion. Olivia herself was second placed miniature brood mare in a large class. She continues to mature and improve every year doing extremely well in the showring in 2023 winning her class at 3 different shows.  Olivia has been tested and is a mushroom carrier - Mu/N.  Olivia produced a lovely mushroom filly Gue Winsome in 2021 who we have retained.  In 2023 the pairing of Gue Olivia and Brandon Fiery Jack produced a strong chestnut colt, Gue Yeats.  We have sadly had to sell Yeats as he is too closely related to our current stock.   

Paloma is a fabulous liver chestnut mare who definitely has the look of her Sire. She has a lovely nature and we are very pleased with her and although you shouldn't have favourites she is up there!  Paloma was shown in 2018 where she was placed third at the Cunningsburgh show with her lovely filly foal Gue Tarah.  Tarah has done very well for the Abbeygreen Stud in Scotland.  Paloma also did very well with Reece Macleod in the Young Handler Class at the 2019 Breed Show - Reece won his age group and went on to win Overall Young Handler.  Reece had never handled Paloma until the day of the show so all credit to him.  Paloma has been tested as a mushroom carrier - Mu/N.  We are very pleased with her 2020 colt foal - Gue Viking - who we have retained as a stallion.  Tested and is SA clear.

Gue Rebecca is a lovely mare with an excellent temperament.  We are very glad to have her as we have sold her sire Lignite Chickadee (Chico).   Chico gained a silver award at the Shetland Pony Evaluation Scheme.  Rebecca was third placed miniature filly foal at the 2016 Cunningsburgh Show and second placed miniature filly foal at the 2016 Viking Show.  Rebecca continues to mature well and as a result she had a first place at the Cunningsburgh show and ended up with Miniature Junior Champion there.  She was third placed at the Viking show and third at the Youngstock Show in a mixed class and was top miniature in the 2/3 year old filly class at that show.  Rebecca has had a very pretty tri-colour filly foal in 2022, Xtra Special who we have retained.

Gue Robyn who is a very smart chestnut filly is our last foal from our stallion Gue Icon.  She is a light chestnut colour - I never cease to be amazed at the different colours of chestnut - with an almost grey mane.  Robyn was shown for the first time in 2017 and was 4th placed 1 year old filly. She then won her class at the Viking show and was Reserve miniature Junior Champion there.   She won a first place at the 2017 Youngstock Show and the cup for Best overall Miniature pony (not a bad achievement for a 1 year old).  Robyn did well again in 2018 with a second place at both the Serrang Show and the Viking Show.  Robyn was fourth placed miniature 3 year old filly at the 2019 Breed Show.  Robyn produced a lovely colt Gue Windsor in 2021.  She has tested positive for carrying the mushroom gene - Mu/N.  Robyn had a striking chestnut filly foal in 2024 to Gue Uproar who will be retained.

Gue Skerry is a lovely blue roan mare.  She had her first outing at the Youngstock Show in November 2018.   In a mixed class she was second and top miniature 1 year old filly. Skerry was third placed miniature 2 year old filly at the 2019 Breed Show.  Skerry has been tested and is a Mushroom carrier and SA free.  She had her first foal in 2024 - Zola, a beautiful mushroom filly who is being retained.

Gue Sophie May is a lovely well marked mare and a first foal for Gue Olivia.  Sophie May was shown once as a foal and was second placed miniature filly foal at the Viking Show.  Sophie May did well as a 1 year old winning a first place at the Viking Show.  She was also Progeny winner with Travis in Unst.  Sophie May was fourth placed miniature 2 year old filly at the 2019 Breed Show.  We have high hopes for her future. She has been tested and is a mushroom carrier - Mu/N.  She is also SA clear.

Secret Dream is a lovely bay skewbald mare who has a beautiful head and markings.  She had her first show outing to the Cunningsburgh Show and she got placed third in the one year old miniature filly class and fourth in the same class at the Viking Show.  First show of 2017 she was Best Miniature and Reserve Junior Champion followed by first places in her age group at both the Viking and Cunningsburgh shows! Secret Dream continued well in 2018 with a win in her class at the Viking Show and Miniature Junior Champion there.  She is a "Dream" of a pony who loves people and she has visited the local Care Centre on several occasions.  Secret Dream had a striking colt, Gue Warrior, in 2021 who is with the Swarthoull stud in Shetland.

Arabella is a striking skewbald with a fabulous mane and tail.  She has already done very well for us in the showring in Shetland - having previously achieved good results for the Milday stud in Scotland.  She has a lovely nature too which was evident when we took her into the local care centre for a Christmas treat for the residents.  Arabella was second placed 3 year old miniature filly at the 2019 Breed Show in Shetland. Arabella had a lovely colt foal, Gue Whalsay, in 2021.  Her 2023 foal Gue Yousa had a difficult start in life but has matured beautifully and has been retained.

Sea Glass is a well developed liver chestnut mare and we are vey pleased with her.   She produced a lovely filly, Gue Willow, who has done well in her first show in Scotland - she achieved first placed 1 year old miniature filly at the National Stallion Show.  We have retained her 2023 filly foal Gue Yovelle.

We are delighted that Tiwa is in our stud.  Tiwa was shown by us at the 2016 Cunningsburgh show gaining a very creditable third place in a strong class of three year old fillies.  Prior to coming to us she was first placed 1 year old filly at the Youngstock show in 2014 and second placed 2 year old filly at the Cunningsburgh Show in 2015.  Tiwa had a lovely filly foal to Brandon Fiery Jack - Gue Venus in 2020.  We have retained her 2022 filly Gue Xara who is a well marked skewbald.
